Collaborative Vision

I’ve posted before about the Five and Dime Challenges sponsored by B’sue Boutiques.  For the July challenge, we did “over the top” pieces.  My entry for the charm bracelet was this jangly number, aptly titled “Amour.”

I am really proud of this piece because I had not attempted many charm bracelets previously, and it involved a lot of wire wrapping, as well as colorizing brass.  After the challenge, I put the bracelet in my Etsy shop.  Not long after, a friend of mine spotted it, and fell in love with the chocolate brown and turquoise combination.  She quickly purchased it, and inquired about matching pieces.

I didn’t have any-honestly, I hadn’t even thought of that.  I asked her a bit about what she might want in terms of a necklace and earrings, and we decided that it would be best for her to come to my house to pick out the charms and bead that she wanted.  ON the agreed upon day, we sat together at the kitchen table, as she tentatively chose, then discarded, then finally decided on the components she wanted.

It really worked out great to have her come here to pick the pieces she wanted.  She was able to touch them, and place them next to the existing components to see if she liked them together.  She was able to try on the pieces as we worked, ensuring that the final result would be the exact size she wanted.

I see this opening a whole new world of possible sales.  Yes, I know Etsy has  a way for a customer to request a customized item, but to actually have the customer by my side designing together is so much more fun.  And virtually guarantees a  satisfied customer!  So…with that said….I would love to meet with any of my customers in the upstate NY area and do the same for you!!  And even if you can’t make it in person, it’s possible to do collaborative creation via the internet, too!  All you have to do is ask!  My email is sales@pinkchapeau.com.
